A volunteer award from Epilepsy Ireland

On Saturday September 29th I was presented with an award by Epilepsy Ireland as one of the Volunteers of the Year at their AGM in Dublin. It was an exceptionally proud moment for me and one that meant a lot. To channel my grief into positive action with the aim of honouring Liane and helping others was a goal from early on after Liane died. To have that publicly acknowledged was a nice touch from Epilepsy Ireland and a welcome/unexpected bonus for me and those around me.

I wish Liane was here with me to see this. To see the effect of her death in a tangible positive sense. To see that after death there remains hope and love. To see who I am and how I’ve got to where I am. I wish she was here.
